Agua Fresa or Strawberry Water

This is a very fast and easy to make drink. Refreshing any time strawberries are in season

  • 4 cups strawberries sliced or other berries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 cups cold water
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice or lime juice
  • ice


  1. In a bowl mix berries, sugar and 1 cup of water. Cover the bowl and refrigerate up to 4 hours. If you want to use other types of berries or mix types of berries and then proceed the same way as before.
  2. Pour the berries into a blender. Blend at high speed until smooth. Pour the berries through a strainer set over a large owl. Remove seeds.
  3. Add remaining 7 cups of water to berry water. Chill in the refrigerator or serve over ice. Garnish with lemon slices and mint.
  4. Try this recipe with other fruit - mangos, peaches, oranges, watermelon or what ever fruit you have at home or within the season. Just replace strawberries with the new fruit.
  5. You can freeze extra fruit and toss it in the drink or place a berry in an ice tray and freeze as an ice cube to add to your drink.
