Onion Rings make a good side addition to many meals or as an appetizer.These are great crispy treats.


Onion Rings

Crispy and tasty. These are easy to make and great as a side dish for lunch or dinner. You can prepare other vegetables the same way too.

  • 1 red onion sliced about1/3 inch or Bermuda onion
  • 1 cup buttermilk or milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • oil for frying


  1. Slice the onion, separate onion rings and soak in buttermilk about 1/2 hour.'Mix salt flour, and cornmeal together on a plate. Mix salt flour, and cornmeal together on a plate. 

  2. Heat oil in skillet. Dip the onion rings in the dry mixture and fry in hot oil. Place on a cookie sheet pan lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Keep warm until ready to serve in a warm oven.
