Onion Rings make a good side addition to many meals or as an appetizer.These are great crispy treats.
- 1 red onion sliced about1/3 inch or Bermuda onion
- 1 cup buttermilk or milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- oil for frying
Slice the onion, separate onion rings and soak in buttermilk about 1/2 hour.'Mix salt flour, and cornmeal together on a plate. Mix salt flour, and cornmeal together on a plate.
Heat oil in skillet. Dip the onion rings in the dry mixture and fry in hot oil. Place on a cookie sheet pan lined with paper towels to absorb excess oil. Keep warm until ready to serve in a warm oven.
