It is a good idea to zest the lemons first and save the lemon zest for other recipes or add some to the lemonaide.
Servings 6 servings
- 1 cup lemon juice
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 4-5 cups water
Extract juice from 4 to 6 lemons, enough to make 1 cup juice.
Mix sugar in one cup of water still until dissolved.
If you roll the lemon firmly on the counter often times you get more juice out of the lemon. Mix the juice and the sugar in a pitcher and add the water. Adjust the sugar and lemon flavor to your taste. Chill the lemonade for an hour and serve over ice.
*You can use carbonated water if you like instead of the regular water
