Smoothies- Strawberry and More

Smothies require just about the same thing to make the great, fruit that is in season, a good blender and what ever you like.

  • 1 cup Strawberries or other fruit
  • 2 Tbsp sugar * optional or honey
  • 2 cup ice optional
  • 1 cup yogurt or almond milk, or tofu optional
  • 2 Tbsp protein powder *optional


  1. Cut fruit in small pieces. Fruit can be fresh or frozen. Blend everything in the blender together. Toss in some ice cubes and blend until smooth. Enjoy
  2. The only requirement for smoothies is your imagination and a good blender. Smoothies are great any time, especially breakfast, when everyone is in a big hurry. I am offering ideas but you use whatever you have at home. Always be sure the lid and bottom are on tight. Note: for your sweetener you may use sugar, or substitute with honey, agave, stevia, or your favorite. smothie_mango Apricot- Blend 1 1/2 cup apricot nectar with 1/2 cup yogurt and 1 cup ice. Apple Crisp- Blend 5 medium apples, 2 celery stalks, 2 oranges (juice). Apple Ginger- Blend 1 apple, a 1/2 inch piece of ginger, juice of 2 limes, 1/4 cup honey, 1 cup water, and 2 cups of ice. Banana- Blend 2 bananas, 1/2 cup yogurt. 1/2 cup milk, 2 teaspoons honey, 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon and ice. Banana Tropical- Blend one banana, 1 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup coconut milk, 1 tablespoon each honey and line juice, 1/4 teaspoon almond extract, and 1 cup ice. -Banana Peanut Butter and Jelly- Blend 1 banana, 1 cup milk (soy milk or almond milk)1/4 cup each peanut butter an wheat germ and 2 tablespoon of your favorite jelly. Very Berry- Blend 1 1/2 cup mixed berries with 1 cup yogurt, and 1 cup of ice cubes, add sugar or honey to taste. Cantaloupe-Lime-Blend 1 lime (zest and juice), 2 cups of diced cantaloupe, 1/3 cup diced peaches, 1 tablespoon honey, 3 ice cubes. Peach Mango Banana- Blend 1 cup each peaches and mangos (fresh or frozen), 1 cup yogurt,, 1 cup ice cubes, 1 banana and sugar to taste. Peach Ginger- Blend 2 cups peach slices, 1 1/2 cup buttermilk, 3 tablespoons brown sugar, 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger Honeydew Almond- Blend 2 cups of chopped honeydew melon 1 cup almond milk and 1 cup ice cubes, and honey to taste. Kiwi Strawberry- Blend 1 cup strawberries and 2 kiwi, 2 tablespoon sugar and 2 cups of ice Peanut butter Apple- Blend 1 chopped apple, 3 tablespoons peanut butter, 2 tablespoon flax seeds, 1 1/2 cups milk (soy or almond Milk) Tropical- Blend 1 cup each chopped pineapple and mango, 1 cup coconut milk, a dash of allspice and 1 cup of ice. Sprinkle toasted coconut on top. Creamy Pineapple- Blend 2 chopped pineapple, 11/2 cup cottage cheese, 1/2 cup milk, 2 teaspoons honey, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla, and 2 cups of ice.
