World’s Best New Cookie

When you are looking for a new cookie to try this is a great one.  The World’s Best Cookie is chewie and has a wonderful flavor. Corn flakes add an extra crispy touch. This is a cookie treat that has healthy ingredients.  I have made these for years but I have no idea where I first found the recipe. It is not in any of my cookbooks, where ever it came from I am glad I found it.



World's Best New Cookie

This recipe makes wonderful cookies. They are perfect for a bake sale, gift sharing or make the cookies with half of the dough to freeze to use in the future.

  • 1 1/2 cup dried apricots
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup peanut butter or Nutella
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup corn flakes crushed
  • 1 cup granola cereal
  • 1/2 cup coconut shredded
  • 1/2 cup peanuts chopped
  • 3 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 11/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp coarse sea salt optional


  1. Combine apricots and raisins in 2 cups of boiling water and let sit about 10 minutes to soften. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
  2. Cream together butter and sugars until light and fluffy. Add egg, mixing well, then peanut butter (or Nutella), and milk, mixing well. Add granola, corn flakes, coconut, and nuts, stirring well.
  3. Sift together flour, soda, salt and cinnamon. Gradually stir vanilla and dry ingredients into creamed mixture, blending well. Drain the dried fruit and add to the dough. Mix well and form into balls the size of a small walnut. Place on a greased cookie sheet about 3 inches apart. Flatten with a fork dipped in water. Sprinkle with the sea salt if you want.
  4. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes. Allow to cool on a cookie sheet for a few minutes before removing.
